Komorebi is the word the Japanese have for when sunlight filters through the trees - the interplay between the light and the leaves.
My name is Kelly Marie King and I hold an MA in Drama and Movement Therapy (Sesame) and I am HCPC registered. Before qualifying I worked with young people who had been excluded from mainstream education and since qualifying I have worked with recently bereaved children, female offenders living with addiction, male offenders and prison officers. All of these people have connected to the games, explorations, story, embodiment and reflection that drama and movement therapy invites. As a student of English Literature I have always enjoyed the power of stories but was ignorant to their archetypal significance until I trained as a therapist. Bringing personal resonance through embodiment and movement to these stories offers deeper personal and collective understanding of ourselves and others. I discovered and uncovered much of myself on this training, which was both a joyful and painful experience; and one which I was fortunate enough to embark upon in the safe container of creative therapy, this is what I hope to offer others.
